Q:
How do you make records?
|
| A:
Making records is a wonderfully interesting, but very technical,
science. It starts with handfuls of vinyl grain and goes through
a process of pressing, cutting and grooving. You can read more
detail about the process at www.urpressing.com/tips.html |
| Q:
Can I get a tour? |
A:
We’re in the process of setting up our plant for tours
beginning the Spring of 2004. In the meantime, you can take
a video tour on this website. |
| Q:
Do you make 78 speed records? |
| A:
Yes. 78rpm refers to the speed. The record itself is a 10”
record and the mastering process cuts it at the 78rpm speed.
We make different sizes and speeds of records. For more information
on the technical aspects of urpGASRecords, check out www.urpressing.com. |
| Q:
How long have you been in the vinyl record business? |
| A:
We’ve been in the record business since 1949 when we pressed
the world’s first 7-inch, 45rpm record for RCA! You can
read more about our history here. |
| Q:
Where are you located? |
| A:
Where else? In Music City, USA! Our plant is near downtown Nashville
down the street from Greer Stadium, home of the Nashville Sounds
baseball team. You can check out some photos of our plant here.

| Q:
Can you hook me up with other vinyl record junkies? |
| A:

meet others in the group on our message
board. Our family is growing and we want you to be part
of it! |
